The CIAA operates Long and Short Term parking facilities at Owen Roberts International Airport (see associated map). Both lots are controlled by automated systems, which are monitored and supported by the Ground Transport Unit. The Ground Transportation Unit (located at the Taxi Stand) provides CI dollar bills in exchange for US dollar bills.
Change is provided in Cayman Islands dollars. The Ground Transportation Unit (located at the Taxi Stand) provides CI dollar bills in exchange for US dollar bills for use in the payment machine, if required.
NOTE: As the system is computerized, calculation of rates is beyond the control of staff. Rates are calculated from the time a ticket is issued. For example, if a Short Term ticket is issued at 9:00 a.m., the first hour will be completed at exactly 10:00 a.m. At 10:01a.m. the second hour will commence and the charge will be calculated accordingly. Therefore, if the ticket is redeemed at 10:01 a.m. the customer will be charged for two hours' parking. Likewise, if a Long Term ticket is issued at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, the first day will be completed at exactly 6:00 a.m. Monday. At 6:01 a.m. the second day will commence and the charge will be calculated accordingly. Therefore, if the ticket is redeemed at 6:01 a.m. Monday, the customer will be charged for two days' parking.
The CIAA operates Long Term parking facilities at the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport ( CKIA) ( see associated map). Short term parking is free while long term parking costs $5.00 per night.
