The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA), which operates the Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) on Grand Cayman and the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) on Cayman Brac, has announced the closure of Owen Roberts International Airport on Wednesday, 3 July 2024 at 6:00 p.m. after the departure of the last flight. Charles Kirkconnell International Airport will also close on Wednesday, 3 July 2024 at 3:00 p.m. following the departure of the last flight.
Once the ’All Clear’ has been issued for the Cayman Islands regarding Hurricane Beryl and the airport facilities and infrastructure damage assessment has been completed, the CIAA will advise the public of the airports’ reopening. Passengers are advised to contact their airlines directly for any flight-related inquiries and updates.
Additionally, passengers are reminded to arrange alternative transportation to Owen Roberts International Airport to reduce congestion in the Short-Term and Long-Term parking lots.
