The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA), which operates the Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) and the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA), is pleased to congratulate CIAA Facilities & Projects Manager Eimer Powery on successfully completing his City and Guilds ILM level 5 qualification in leadership and management.
This internationally recognised Level 5 qualification encourages strategic thinking to foster business improvement and this programme, which was facilitated by the Cayman Islands Government Civil Service College, had a particular emphasis on innovation.
“This programme is focused on helping managers to develop their ability to lead, motivate and inspire others,” said Civil Service College programme facilitator Graeme Jackson. “A key part of the programme is the delivery of an innovative workplace project to demonstrate the required competencies and skills which give us the assurance that the learning has transferred into reality.”
CIAA CEO Albert Anderson commented, “This was a fantastic opportunity for Eimer to network with colleagues in the wider public and civil service. The assignments were practical and meant we were benefiting from his participation immediately by adding innovation ideas to the maintenance department as we transition back to normal operations focused on our vision to deliver an excellent airport experience.”
